AAD Opens Center of Excellence in Minneapolis
February 23, 2011
Advanced Arm Dynamics (AAD), Redondo Beach, California, will open the North Central Center of Excellence in Maple Grove, Minnesota, on March 1. Pat Prigge, CP, has been named the center's clinical manager and Jennifer Peterson, MA, PT, will serve as the rehabilitation coordinator.
Prigge joined AAD in 2008 as clinical manager for the Midwest Center of Excellence, Waterloo, Iowa. Prior to AAD he served as director of prosthetics education for Otto Bock HealthCare, Minneapolis, Minnesota, educating practitioners and patients on the use of advanced prosthetic technologies. Prigge also worked as a clinical prosthetist with Hanger Prosthetics & Orthotics and at Gillette Children's Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota.
Peterson joined AAD in 2010. She served for 17 years as a staff physical therapist at Fairview-University Medical Center, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and has experience in wound care, inpatient rehabilitation, and clinical education.
"Minneapolis was selected as the location for our new center for two reasons," said John Miguelez, AAD president and senior clinical director. "The first is Pat Prigge-an exceptional upper-extremity prosthetist who provides the highest level of patient care. The second reason is to give patients in the North Central region of the country better access to comprehensive upper-extremity prosthetic rehabilitation."
"The Minneapolis center is focused completely on the patient's needs and helping them feel at home for however long they are here," Prigge said. "Our goal is to truly listen to people, and then educate them about new technologies and opportunities. We want to hear patients say 'Wow-this prosthesis is going to change my life.'"
