Our company provides products, services, technology and consulting to improve the quality and lower the price of the orthopedic incidents for pre- and post-surgery. We are one of the leaders in orthopedic bracing and Cold Therapy. Our company partners with clinics, orthopedic surgeons and Integrated Delivery Networks. We also provide sports medicine and rehabilitation products to one million patients annually. The way that this position fits into the company is by providing field support for patient care.
Job Description       
-Formulate and explain orthopedic and/or prosthetic appliances to patient and discuss treatment plan while instructing patients in the use and care of orthoses and/or prostheses.  
-Construct and fabricate appliances and/or supervise others who are constructing the appliances.
-Train and supervise orthopedic and prosthetic assistants and technicians, and other support staff.
-Examine, interview, and measure patients in order to determine their appliance needs, and to identify factors that could affect appliance fit
-Fit, test, and evaluate devices on patients, and make adjustments for proper fit, function, and comfort. Which may include- Repairing, rebuilding, and modifying prosthetic and/or orthopedic appliances  
-Confer with physicians in order to formulate specifications and prescriptions for orthopedic and/or prosthetic devices. Design orthopedic and prosthetic devices, based on physicians' prescriptions, and examination and measurement of patients.
-Maintains knowledge of Medicare rules and policies regarding coding and documentation requirements.  
-Maintains patient records.  
-Provides accurate clinical documentation, to assist in accurate billing and coding as necessary.  
-Publish research findings, and present them at conferences and seminars. Update skills and knowledge by attending conferences and seminars.
-Research new ways to construct and use orthopedic and prosthetic devices.
-Bachelor's degree and 5+ year's relevant experience, or a combination of both.
-Has the ability to learn new softwares and systems. Computer proficiency in web browser/internet search, MS Outlook and Word capabilities.
-Completion of a NCOPE accredited residency program and certification by the ABC in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthotics (ABC).
-Must be certified by American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics & Pedorthotics, or can by certified by the Board of Certification of O&P.
-State licensing, where deemed appropriate.
Additional Requirements
Some of our additional requirements include Moderate travel which would be less than 20 % and On-call rotation within the identified market territory. We provide a cell phone for receiving and responding to voicemail messages. Immunization credentials are needed as required by facility. Our Medicare accreditation status needs its employees who are in close physical contact with patients to uphold certain immunizations, health screenings, related trainings and criminal background checks. Employees are also required to maintain certification and continuing education courses as required for licensure and/or certification purposes.
