Perry Prosthetics is growing with the patient's welfare being the focus of all we do. As a Perry Prosthetics Prosthetist/Orthotist you'll be able to leverage your current knowledge and experience with the collaboration of our clinical, technical and support staff to provide our combined patients with advanced and comprehensive prosthetic and orthotic care, and become part of the advanced rehabilitation team in the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan area.
You along with the support of our team with be responsible for the following:
Collaborate with physicians in the evaluation and analysis of a patient's need for prosthetic and/or orthotic services; recommend treatment options to physicians.
Examine and evaluate patient needs within our scope of practice. Formulate a treatment plan to best provide a prosthetic and/or orthotic device(s).
Select materials, obtain an impression, make model rectifications, dictate fabrication requirements. Perform fittings, including static and dynamic alignments. Evaluate prosthetic and/or orthotic device(s) on patient, adjust to assure optimal fit.
Instruct patient in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices. Identify and reconcile issues/problems to ensure patient's satisfaction.
Provide follow-up with patients and physicians.
Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health care professionals. Provide detailed clinical notes to patient records. May mentor residents or newly certified clinicians.
Provide information to administrative staff to conduct reimbursement activities. Participate in Professional Interaction, Development and Education meetings with other clinical staff.
Meet with physicians, case managers and other referral sources to review prosthetic and/or orthotic services and capabilities while developing business relationships to ensure ongoing and future sources or referrals.
Adhere to all company regulations and follow Medicare and other governmental regulations.
May be asked to perform on-call, hospital calls, or float between more than one Perry Prosthetic locations.
Current board certification in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC)
A valid driver's license.
Licensure in the State of Ohio or the ability to obtain and maintain state licensure.
Minimum of one year of clinical practice.
Ability to assist lifting patients. Capable of easily lifting fifty (50) pounds of weight alone.
Ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a workday.
Visual capable (near and distant) enough to maintain accurate records, recognize people, and understand written direction.
Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility.
Fine motor skills adequate for scheduling and preparing patients, use of equipment and supplies while providing treatment.
