We are seeking a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) or Certified Orthotist (CO) to provide exceptional prosthetic and orthotic care to patients of all ages. Our practice specializes in lower extremity orthotics and diabetic patient care. Position Summary
The CPO/CO is responsible for the evaluation, design, fabrication, fitting, and alignment of prosthetic and orthotic devices tailored to each patient’s functional and lifestyle needs. This role requires close collaboration with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
The ideal candidate is an experienced, compassionate clinician with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination, and lifestyle evaluation
- Design, fabricate, fit, and adjust custom prosthetic and orthotic devices based on patient needs and physician prescriptions
- Educate patients and caregivers on proper use, care, and maintenance of devices
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards
- Partner with administrative and operations staff to ensure efficient care delivery
- Stay current with industry advancements, technologies, and continuing education requirements
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and certification standards (ABC/BOC)
Qualifications
- Current ABC or BOC certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) or Certified Orthotist (CO)
- Ability to obtain and maintain state licensure as required
- 3–5 years of clinical experience preferred
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics from an accredited program
- Strong foundation in anatomy, biomechanics, and material science

- Strong clinical and technical knowledge in orthotics and prosthetics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-centered approach
- Ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and supportive manner
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Proficiency in fabrication techniques and familiarity with CAD/CAM technology
- Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
**Salary range $100K – $130K will be determined based on candidate’s skills, experience, knowledge, geographic location, and other variables.
