The Department of Veterans Affairs has an opening for a Health Technician (Certified Pedorthist) to join the Sioux Falls VA Healthcare System in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Minimum requirements: Citizen of the United States. Candidates must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 U.S.C. 7402(d). Candidates must be able to perform the physical requirements of the job.  Candidates must have completed 1 year of experience functioning as a full member of the clinical team which includes involvement in treatment plan development and implementation for pedorthic patient care.

 

Preferred experience: National certification by American Board of Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC) or The Board of Certification/Accreditation (BOC) as a Certified Pedorthist (CPed, or BOCPED). Completion of an Associate’s degree in a health care related field. Completion of a National Commission on “Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) approved pedorthic pre-certification program. Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited pedorthic pre-certification education program.
