About the Role
Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) sits within SA Health as South Australia’s most populated health network, servicing nearly 464,000 South Australians with sites including the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and many more. Our consumers come from diverse backgrounds, being any users of the health service. These may include inpatients, outpatients, and other support services (Integrated Care, SA Dental, Prison Health Service, DonateLife SA, Imaging, Pathology, BreastScreen SA and Pharmacy).
As the Manager of Orthotics and Prosthetics you will provide high quality advanced Prosthetic and Orthotic assessment, service planning, and direct clinical service provision as appropriate for clients who access the Orthotics and Prosthetics service for Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) and associated clinics. As an experienced clinician, you will apply significant clinical and leadership expertise to the delivery, development, and continuous improvement of quality prosthetic/orthotic services across CALHN. Other key responsibilities include:
- Operating within a multidisciplinary service context, you will uphold professional standards and provide complex clinical and consultancy services, with specialist knowledge in rehabilitation management
- Management for technical and administrative staff and as a clinical leader, mentor, and clinical supervisor,
- Provide clinical support, education and profession-specific supervision and be responsible for coordinating student clinical placements.
We are seeking someone who:
- Has excellent communication skills, both written and orally
- Has a proven ability to build relationships and engage with a range of stakeholders
- Can work under pressure and effectively to deadlines, in a team and independently
- Expert experience in Orthotic and Prosthetic Service
- Experience in leadership, management, and clinical supervision of staff
- Experience in developing policies and procedures as well as being to interpret and apply legislation, standards, and policies at a high level
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of Australian Orthotic and Prosthetic Association.
