The Orthotics and Prosthetics Laboratory Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining safe, organized, and effective laboratory operations that enable student learning. The position will assist faculty in the development of laboratory-based curricular content and have oversight of operations when students are engaged in project-based laboratory experiences. The position also works to ensure students develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviors to achieve competencies in key areas such as safe laboratory practices, and orthosis, prosthesis and footwear device design, development, and fabrication.
Associates degree or equivalent in Orthotics and Prosthetics, biomedical engineering, biology, physiology or related fields required. Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, biology, physiology, or related fields preferred. 3-5 years of laboratory coordination experience required. Prior experience working or volunteering in an Orthotics and or Prosthetics laboratory required. Orthotic and Prosthetic Technician certification by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics, Inc. preferred, but not required.
