Hello O and P community,
We are Senior Master’s in O and P students from the International Institute
of orthotics and prosthetics (IIOP). We are seeking 3 volunteer subjects
from the Tampa Bay, Florida area to participate in a research experiment on
campus at IIOP. We want to start testing sometime in early/mid November.
We are conducting an experiment looking at changes in gait performance and
internal socket pressure with different prosthetic feet at varying shoe
heel heights. Subjects will each be fit with three different prosthetic
feet and then asked to walk on a pressure sensing mat. Shoe heel height
will be altered before each trial for each prosthetic foot.
Testing in the lab will take about 2 hours for each volunteer subject.
Subjects will be scheduled individually. Participation is voluntary and
subjects may choose to stop testing at any time for any reason.
Volunteer subject requirements:
1. Over the age of 18
2. Below the knee amputee (transtibial)
3. Amputee for more that 1 year
4. Able to walk 2 minutes continuously without assistance
