Unfortunate reality of life question.
We have a patient in ALF, of advanced age and with dementia.
She has femoral fracture and is in Sarmiento type KAFO.
Problem being, femoral section is being soiled routinely. What results
in call from facility, asking us what to do with the brace.
I have no doubt, we are not the first ones to encounter such situation.
Has anyone come up with a working solution for caregivers that, will
prevent brace from being soiled? As you all understand, Medicare will
not pay for a 2nd brace in 2 weeks.
