I’m a new board eligible practitioner to North Carolina having moved from Georgia. I was informed that NC Medicaid does not cover MPKs.
I found that the MPK code is not listed upon review of their policy article. Attachment E: Requesting Unlisted Prosthetics and Orthotics for Adults under NC Medicaid’s clinical Coverage Policy No 5B gives a fairly easy pathway for coverage of unlisted devices. Since the MPK code is not acknowledged in the coverage policy, does this make it an “unlisted” device. Has anyone had success billing MPKs for Medicaid in North Carolina?
