Hello Everyone,
We have recently experienced, in the words of our facilities manager, a “catastrophic failure” of our central vacuum system pump. Initial quotes for an equivalent replacement pump and installation are close to 10K. Given this unexpected event, I am requesting information on central vacuum systems currently in use by fabrication facilities. Of particular interest is the following information:
* Are you using a central vacuum system in your facility?
* If you are, what is the system typically used for? (e.g. vacuum-forming, laminations)
* How long is the motor/pump in use on a daily basis?
* What are the components of the system that you employ? (i.e. motor, impeller pump, surge tank, etc.)
* What are the specifications of the motor/pump components?
Any information will be greatly appreciated as we move forward with our proposal to administration. I will compile and post all responses to this request. Thank you for your assistance,
Bernard Hewey, CPO
