Good afternoon,
We have a 13 y/o male patient, 5′ 3″, 90lbs, short transfemoral residual limb length, and a K4 ambulator. The kid keeps tearing up all the pediatric knees we have put on him, including the Ossur pediatric Total Knee (Junior, his current knee), Ottobock pediatric 4 polycentric, and the Fillauer Mighty Mite 4 bar. He breaks pylons, adaptors, and the knees barely make the 6 month mark before there is significant excessive movement in the linkage. He is a very active young man and I would like to put him on good componentry but don’t want him walking around on a 12 lb AK. He does not have the best gait mechanics because of the very short limb he has (congenital). No other issues, great parents/support, has great attitude and no hypersensitivities to life.
What knees should we look at for this little but mighty patient?
