We are seeking evidence citations and guidance as part of a resource request to fund the expansion of our in-house fabrication to include Composite/thermo-set orthoses fabrication. For reference the fabrication department currently includes all Prosthetics (with exception pre-pregs) and traditional orthoses (thermo-form plastics, etc).
Any/all references would be welcome including energy expenditure/efficiency measures, strength/weight, durability, Patient satisfaction, manufacturing efficiencies/advantages.
We’d welcome guidance/recommendations from those who’ve undertaken similar initiatives, particularly in institutional settings.
