Hello everyone!
I wanted to table some questions about prosthetic paperwork and ordering
components.
On average, can you let us know how long it takes an admin (or other member
of your team) to accomplish the following…
There are no “right” answers. Just do the best you can, based off of your
experience.
If I missed any categories strictly related to getting prosthetic claims
paid, please let me know.
*Please let us know how long it takes a member of your team to* :
1.) Create a DWO?
2.) Send out the DWO and make sure it is recouped with a signature from the
ordering doctor etc?
(We realize sometimes a fax is sufficient, while other times a member of
your team might have to go the doctors appointment to move things along. –
Please just let us know in either case what you think it would take to
either facilitate the fax option vs the doctor visit option). We realize
answers may vary, just do the best you can.
3.) Reach out to a physical therapist and get necessary paperwork (amp pro
etc)?
4.) Ascertain any other needed doctors notes or medical notes to use for a
medicare claim.
5.) Physically order the needed components / parts for a prosthesis (foot,
pylon, etc.)
6.) Again, if there are any criteria that I missed in the data collection
section please supply that information and a time frame.
