Hello All,
I have a very difficult case which I am faced with. A patient who has been using a CROW for almost one year has now been Rx’d a KAFO for severe OA and knee instability. I am usually up for any challenge (in Ontario we have funding if the device is made by me in-house – Central fab not covered) but this patient is 452# and I am not even sure what hinges would be rated that high – if any. The individual does minimal walking but does need to climb 5 steps and a few steps for transferring.
I am posing 2 questions – Does anyone know of a joint(s) which could handle this?
Has anyone tried this?
Any hints, recommendations or suggestions would be much appreciated.
