Hi Everyone,
I have a patient who is 11 years old and very active she plays baseball,
goes hiking, and is a typical active kid. She has been using a Total Knee
2000 for the past several years and she breaks it continually. This year
she has snapped the 5th linkage on the back of the knee in half twice
already. The metal fractures in half through the centre of the two pivot
points. (Has anyone had this happen before?). She lives out of town and
requires a durable knee which does not need to be replaced every 46 months.
She is also short and has a long limb so it needs to have a low build
height. Does anyone have any recommendations on what they have used for
patients like this?
