Other than antiperspirants, is there anything that can be done for major sweating?
Patient is 5’10†male 300 lbs. BKA 2nd to diabetes and Charcot arthropathy. New amputee has had prosthesis 6 months. Wearing a Harmony E2 VASS and a custom urethane liner.
Even after a couple of hours, the patient can pour approximately 2 cups of sweat from his liner. Notes significant sweating even in thigh and groin area above where sleeve and prosthesis is making contact while wearing the prosthesis. Has had catastrophic skin break down on his axilla in the past from trying to use antiperspirants with aluminum chlorohydrate in them so we are very hesitant to try Certain Dry etc this on his residuum.
Any suggestions would be welcome.
