Hi List,
Â
I have a patient with a quad-membral presentation who would like be able to perform more exercises at the gym with free weights / dumbells. She has a very short trans-radial presentation on both sides and could be essentially treated as an elbow distarticulation presentation. She would like something simple that could be strapped on or hooked onto a barbell or set of dumbells. Safety of course would be a concern if she could not easily release from the weights. It would be ideal to have devices she could don and doff independently, but having a friend help her is also possible.Â
Â
So far I am considering using a set of Harbinger Lifting Hooks. They may work as is, or may require some modification. Here is a link to the hooks and also to a video of a woman with a similar presentation using them. Does anyone have any other thoughts or ideas?
