Ray McKinney

Erin Ruxton

It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my friend and mentor, Ray McKinney.

Ray passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 10th. He took me in before I knew anything about prosthetics. I worked with him for 13 years, and looked to him like a father. Ray was born on July 1, 1952, in Moline, IL to Donald and Mary McKinney. He was educated in Illinois and served in the US Army. He graduated from Northwestern University’s Prosthetics and Orthotic Program. Ray owned and operated McKinney Prosthetics and more recently Paramount Prosthetics. He was known throughout his career as a leader in the industry. Ray was a Cubs fan and an avid golfer. He was a truly remarkable man and he touched many hearts. Ray was a loving father of Melissa and Michael (Chelsea) McKinney of Kenosha. He was the best Papa to Mikayla, Jaylen, Declan, Jackie, and Hannah. He is survived by his sisters Judy and Theresa, sister-in-law Cindy, his nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends and family. Ray was proceeded in death by his parents and his brother, Michael. The staff !

at McKinney Prosthetics are shocked and saddened to lose such a great teacher and leader.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL, 60031, with services starting at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Heart Association are appreciated.
