Jaw orthosis

Chris Phillips

Hi all,
I recently had a person stop by inquiring about a jaw orthosis. She was referred by a local dermatologist after a tumor resection behind her right ear. This apparently affected the nerve running along her jaw on the right side. She does have slight paralysis and numbness but it is functional. Her problem is that when she relaxes the jaw and it drops slightly she is in incredible pain. When she holds her hand against the jaw it relieves her pain. She reports wrapping around her jaw and over her head with Ace wrap has helped but of course causes other issues. Certainly we can attack this from a custom standpoint and McGyver something but I wanted to reach out to this awesome group and see if anyone has come across something like this and found a solution.
Thanks!
Chris
