I am looking for some advice on perspiration with a PFFD patient. The
user is an active 40yr old female who walks with locked side steels and
uses nylon tights as an interface. Her prosthesis has full length
cosmetic foam which encases her leg and over the summer she noticed more
perspiration than usual. She also had more maintenance in servicing the
hinge joints than usual. This is probably due to an increase in
perspiration due to the warmer weather.
Would anybody have experienced anything similar and what solutions did
you find? She is not keen on odourless antiperspirant.
