I was asked to post my responses to the How is this legalemail which included a link for a company selling back braces on TV and billingthe patient’s insurance.
The answers mostly just vented the frustrations all of usare feeling about this. One suggested itwas a matter of corruption while another was a panicked response from a companydoing something similar in their state.
At this point, the only thing we can do is report thecompanies to the insurance companies, OIG, Medicare, State Licensure andAttorney General’s Office in your state and theirs.
I thank you for your time, the comments and discussion I hadwith several of you regarding the demise of the O&P industry as we haveknown it.
Things are going to get worse before they get better. I wish you a lot of luck with the strugglesthat are coming your way (mine way too). We just have to take it one step at a time. The more of us that can ban together, thestronger we are. Keep that in mind!
