Choosing Wisely Initiative

Choosing Wisely is a campaign of the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation. It seeks to identify over utilized or unnecessary procedures in an effort to control medical costs without negatively impacting the quality and outcomes of medical care. Following their lead, a great many other medical academies and societies have submitted five guidelines concerning procedures in their area of specialization.

It shouldn’t be too hard to identify five such items in our area of specialization. My suggestion would be the routine use of flexible inner sockets in the transtibial prosthesis.
