Dear List
I was wondering what type of brace you use for neuromuscular scoliosis. I have a 15 year old microencephaly patient with 60 degrees right thoracic neuromuscular scoliosis. Doctor wants a brace at this time. I usually treat NM scoliosis with a custom made soft boston brace with a rigid external frame with very good results. This time though I am thinking of normal porlyprop rigid Boston brace in order to try and achieve a bigger correction. However I am deeply concerned on how the patient will tolerate the enhanced corrective forces. So…. What do you all normally do in Neuromuscular scoliosis??
