fun with cosmetics

Schafer, Kristin

Hi Listserve. Here’s an easy one. I have a patient who looked at the trial limb we provided with disgust because of how it looked. We got into a discussion of his cosmetic preferences and found that he wants the black carbon fibre socket, a black pipe, and tube clamp adapters with a black sleeve where the hex nut screws in to tighten, and a black foot shell. He asked if he could have gold screws! Has anyone seen any golden screws out there? I can only imagine the responses I might get… 😉

Any other ideas to improve the cosmetic design? We have discussed doing something with the posterior distal lamination under where the sleeve ends and can be viewed by all.
He was pretty keen to look at the Bespoke Innovations products as well. We’ll look into the cost of these fairings and the process of getting them fabricated.

Thanks to all. Have a golden day.
