Hello,
Patient presents as CVA with subluxed shoulder, flaccid elbow, wrist and
fingers (post chemo issues). She has tried all kinds of shoulder slings
from the OT’s, and cannot tolerate anything over either shoulder.
She is a retired PT, and is telling me what she wants, and I think I have
seen a prefabricated device like this somewhere in the past.
She basically wants a small LSO that would have a Velcro based front that
she could easily strap her forearm to with a couple straps around the
forearm (she actually wants a “gutter splint” with Velcro attached to it).
Is there something available like this? I could and probably will make it
myself, but just looking for design features.
Any thoughts appreciated.
