I am posting this question for a colleague of mine. She has a female
client that has a long trans-humeral amputation who would like to have a
swim arm made. She does not just want a socket with a TRS swim fin or
similar, rather she would like a full length arm with a locking elbow
that is waterproof and cosmetic. The elbow would be positioned manually
rather than cable operated. I have never heard or seen an elbow like
this, but maybe someone has. I realize the amount of water resistance
for a full length arm, but wonder if anyone has fit a long trans-humeral
with a full length swim arm, even with a passive (no actual joint) elbow
before? Comments or suggestions are appreciated.
