help with duraflex needed

List,
I am trying to fabricate a inner SMO out of Duraflex (OP FLEX), which will go inside of a 5/32 copoly AFO. How do I keep the inner SMO safe while pulling the AFO over it?? The heat from the copoly destroys the SMO. I can go the rout of making a dummy SMO and pull over that, but this would take time which I don’t really have. Any help would be appreciated.
