Foot Orthosis Survey

Jeremy Farley

Dear ListServ,

Foot orthoses have garnered some press in the recent past (NY Times, Chicago Tribune), mostly indicating that while there appears neither rhyme nor reason to the methods used to provide the orthoses, they still provide a benefit to the end user. After spending some time perusing the relevant literature, results vary from inconclusive, to no benefit, to the greatest thing since sliced bread.

In an attempt reveal some of the methods behind the madness in foot orthosis fabrication; I’ve generated a short survey (10 questions) to determine a sort of consensus in treating three generic (very, very, generic) patients. The information gathered here can be used in developing more in depth studies in the future.
Attached is the link to the survey.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to complete it. If you have any questions or comments about the survey, please don’t hesistate to ask. Results will, of course, be shared with the list.
