Patients choices? The C-leg or the new RHEO 2?

Lars W. Andersen

Hi,

I am a AK amputation myself, and am gearing up towards getting my first
Computer-Controlled knee. Have tried the C-leg for a month and “got” the
idea of how it improves Gait over different walking speeds, stumble
control etc.
I’ll also add that I have a Crux amputation on my other leg.

For various “feature” reasons, I like the Rheo 2 knee over the C-leg. I
like the fact that I can turn it off on long flights, and that it swings
free when running out of power. I have this far only seen it “on paper”
and I am going to test it when the approval for the knee comes through,
as Ossur offers that (at least in Europe they do).

I am curious to hear what percentages of patients have tested those 2
legs, and what side they have come down on. And why?
I want to be as prepared as possible for the test, and any feedback
would be very welcome.

And yes. I HAVE googled everything related to comparisons between those
2 knees, seen all the videos on youtube etc.

ANY feedback along the lines of choosing between the two would be very
much appreciated.

Thank you & best regards
Lars
