Reaction to Seal-Ins

Schafer, Kristin

Hi All,
Could you lpease enlighten me once again? I have a client who I just
sent home for trial with a suction socket (TF) and Seal-In liner. She
wore the socket home which is about a 2 hour drive and she said she
started to feel a burning sensation and didn’t take her prosthesis off
until she could stand it no longer. She said it appeared to be many,
many reddened blisters and welts all over the residual limb. Today more
than 3/4 are gone but her limb is still swollen.

What are your thoughts? Allergy? Any treatment options? Do I need to
change my approach and go back to a true suction?

Thanks for your expertise. BTW, this is my first Seal-in case.
