Introduction of Afghan Ortho TCl:

We are inviting all Humantarian Organization to support the Afghan Orthoto Training Center which is  non-governmental, non-political, non religious and non profit making organization. Afghan Ortho Training Center (AOTC) is the only local training center of its kind in Afghanistan providing different training programs in orthopaedic technology both in prosthetics and orthotics for male and female in order to promote the right of people with disabilities (PWDs) to be treated with dignity and respect by their families and local communities and to have greater access to opportunities in education, training and employment so thus this center is providing one year Diploma courses in each prosthetics and orthotics through foreign qualified trainers and ISPO (International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics) Register orthopaedic technologists.

Goal and Objectives of Afghan Ortho TC:

The Afghanortho TC current goal is to increase the geographical scope of Prosthetics and Orthotics services in more remote areas of the country.  The center will recruit students from areas where Prosthetics & orthotics services are not yet available with the aim of sending them back to work in their own communities after the completion of course.  Female Orthotists Prosthetists are a sorely under-represented group, and Afghanortho TC is presently giving priority to female and physical disable applicants.  Afghanortho TC will work actively with the government to facilitate a plan for enrolling under-represented and rural students, not just those from urban areas.

To canalized qualitative P&O services in the whole country, to provide equal job opportunities for physical disable and national P&O training facilities in Afghanistan with in three years Afghanortho CT wants to have qualified P&O through out Afghanistan at each province to implement the EPHS strategy of MOPH for physical disable rehabilitation. In order to make this goal a reality, however, funding is needed in order to pay staff and faculty salaries and purchase necessary classroom and administrative equipment.

Afghanortho TC programs also emphasizes on the treatment and rehabilitation of disabled children.  Teaching families how to understand and support their disabled sons and daughters will reinforce and strengthen communities, while encouraging society to be more accepting of other-disabled individuals.

Looking forward for your help and support.

Regards.
