Hello all. I have a pt who has a Lt transfemoral amputation. I fit him with a prosthesis a week ago, we have great suction (skin fit), total contact (without bottoming out, skin does not “pooch out” of the valve housing). This is the desert here and the temps are well above 100 degrees, the pt is a very active walker, averages about 4+ miles a day. He is also a stickler for hygene and states that he cleans his residuum frequently and has even tried special lotions that are made for facial pimples. He has been having these pimple issues since the last socket I made for him too (earlier this summer, still hot) on his back-up prosthesis. His previous socket that was made by another practitioner was very large, had huge gapping. I appreciate everyone’s recommendations.
