I am currently working with a hip disarticulation amputee who has expressed
an interest in receiving a cosmetic covering for his prosthesis. The only
information I have found regarding a cosmesis of this sort involves sending
the prosthesis to Otto Bock in MN to have the work done. If anybody aware
of fabrication facilities that might still be making the wo part removable
cosmetic covers or something comparable? I think that this would be most
effective and durable,given that the patient’s primary concern is “filling
his empty pant leg”. I have seen the type with the zipper, and even this
would be good if I could find a fabrication facility that makes them. Any
input on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
