How thick is a ply? Responses

I truly appreciate every one of the replies to my query regarding the
thickness of a ply of sock. I received so many thoughtful responses.
Apparently according to the Omega software, the standard reduction per
ply is .015 inches, and using a micrometer to measure one ply of sock
verifies this claim.
