Dear List,
After reading the number of negative replies, here is a positive one. 3 or
so years ago I fitted an active young patient with a C-Leg. In 4 months he
was back with a non-functioning knee. We sent it back for repairs. They
examined the knee and declared that there was corrosion in the contacts and
that was water damage which voided the warranty and that the repairs would
cost $6,600. I explained it to the patient who denied any contact with
water. I received 50K for the prosthesis and just couldn’t demand additional
payment. I called Otto-Bock to authorize the repairs, I sure was upset and
explained the situation to them. They did not promise anything at that time,
but when the repairs were done, they did not charge me a penny!
