Thank you for your consideration. In the state of Oregon as in many other
states there is a severe problem with insurance coverage for Orthotic and
Prosthetic devises. This is leaving many members of our state unnecessarily
disabled. This is not only a human catastrophe but a substantial burden on both the
taxpayer and the altruist.
There are many people in the state of Oregon who either paid there premiums
or had good jobs with insurance benefits who have found that they cannot get
the help they need. The honest truth is that there are many people left in the
position that they have to quit work and become dependant upon societies
largess. This choice is far from what they would prefer but the cost of funding
their own health care is more than their salaries can sustain and without a
prosthesis they are unable to produce vocationally.
