This recall has been taken care of by Ossur. I have received two letters,
overnight UPS service, regarding this recall.

The first letter was to inform anyone that has purchased any knee units from

Century XXII to be aware of the recall, and if the facility has any of the
affected knees, they will be contacting those facilities with another
letter.

The second letter was the specific serial number of the knee joint that will

be replaced. I happen to have a couple of them that will be replaced here
soon.

I feel that Ossur has taken appropriate action with the recall situation,
and has done everything possible to correct the situation as effeciently as
possible. I also feel cofident that Ossur will make sure that ALL
facilities that have any of these knee units will be contacted and taken
care of. Ossur is typically a very responsive company and is focused on
providing excellent service and support, at least that is my experience.

(And just for the record, before anyone slams me for posting something
positive about a company or anything, I am NOT an Ossur affiliate in any
way, shape of form….just prosthetist in a small private facility….you
can do a google search and verify this if you are interested…I get no
perks or any benefits from Ossur in any way….just thought I would throw
that in)
