I recommed Otto Bock Central Fab in Dayton, Ohio, they are great and very fast, also Don and Sharon at Pel Central Fab in Cleveland, Ohio. Both are excellant in their work and are fast.

I have using a new central fab in Chicago. John and Kyle Terras worked
for
UCO Fabrication until in moved to southern Illinois. They just opened
their
own cfab and there work is excellent and they bend over backwards and
speak
English, too! It’s called Precise O and P. Let me know if you are
interested and I will forward the phone number and address to you.

They just cannot be beat! Have used them for years. Quality second to
none. They are not cheap but I would rather pay a bit more and not
have
to worry about it.

I know that Boston Brace was accepting a limited number of AFO central fab orders. You could check with them to see what they charge, etc.

My name is Pete Cook, C.O. I have worked in this field for 25 years as
an orthotist and as a tech. As an orthotist I always did my own
fabrication. Recently I opened a central fabrication facility in Indiana and I do
all of the fabrication. I have always had a good reputation for the quality
of my work and quick turnaround. If you would like to speak to me or if you
would like us to provide some references, please contact me at this email
address or at (317) 258-0825

I have been using a company in the Seattle area, called Freedom
Fabrication. I have used several others to see how they are (you really never know
what the quality is until you give them a try) and this place has done the
best overall job for me. I used to use a facility in Dayton, OH, which was
bought by Otto Bock. The quality is good, I have no complaints about
that at all. The turn around time was also pretty good. But, the pricing
and billing issues with Otto Bock sucked really bad. Every time I would
call them and tell them that was NOT the price I was quoted, and then they
would have to have someone call me to get it fixed and resolved, then I had
to watch the statements closely to make sure the credits were on there,
etc. I have so much stuff to deal with that I just don’t have time to watch
that kind of stupid stuff, even though it is hundreds of dollars a month and
I need to watch that. For example, I sent them a cast for an AFO,
articulated ankle, plastic, simple Tamarac joints, 90 degree stop (non adjustable
kind).
I was quoted a price of about $185 for that, which is kind of high
compared to a lot of others. The bill came for that brace, and it was
over $300, they charged for filling the cast, modification (which was not
that much, I take a good cast, no roping, no distortions, I get the foot
very close to 90 degrees, so there is no extra work to correct the ankle
flexion), and they charge for every little thing. All these little
codes add up to a lot of money. The did adjust the price to the $185 and
told me that would be my price always. I tried it again, and same ordeal
happened. I was finished with them after dealing with it a couple more times.

The place in Washington state (freedom fabrication) gives me a good
fair price, and they do extremely good quality work.

I also tried a place in Florida, Fab Tech Systems, the quality was
pretty good, the turn around was very slow. That might have been due to the
hurricanes that were passing through there, which I know messed up a
lot of stuff in Florida.
I tried another place in Iowa, not a good experience either.
If you need more info or contact name and numbers, let me know.
