Are you ready to unwind and play a relaxing round of golf? There is still
time and you are invited to the 1st annual Louisiana Association of Orthotist
and Prosthetist Golf Tournament. This year we are pleased to be playing at the
Pelican Point Golf Club outside of Baton Rouge on Thursday, July 14th. It is
described as having a distinct British feel, with the greens to tees being
relatively flat and then transitioning to undulating, multi-tiered greens. The
reports have been very good from those that have played the course. A
barbeque dinner will follow with an awards ceremony to conclude things. This fun
four person scramble will be the opening event for our state meeting that will
follow on the next two days. A welcome reception will be held later at the

The meeting in Baton Rouge will be at the newly remodeled Holiday Inn Select
Hotel on July 15-16. Concurrent orthotic and prosthetic secessions will be
held on Friday with a Cajun style Fish Fry to follow the meeting. Saturday
sessions will focus on both administrative and technical education. A panel on
licensure will be presented by professionals who have successfully completed
the process in their individual states. Remember you will be near plantation
homes, swamp tours, casinos and only an hour from New Orleans. Come and pass a
great time with us this summer and pick up those needed continuing education
