OPAF PSA: NASCOTT REHAB SERVICES ANNOUNCES JANUARY

Jeffrey S. Reznick

The Orthotic and Prosthetic Assistance Fund, OPAF,
http://www.opfund.org, offers the following information in cooperation
with Nascott Rehabilitation Services, http://www.nascott.com, as a
public service announcement, PSA, that helps to fulfill OPAF’s official
representation of the fields of orthotics and prosthetics in community
and philanthropic circles.

************OPAF PSA UNDERWRITERS************
This year, OPAF PSAs and overall OPAF operations have been made possible
through the generous support of OPAF’s annual gold sponsors, including
the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, ABC
http://www.abcop.org/; American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association,
AOPA http://www.aopanet.org; Morrison & Foerster LLP
http://www.mofo.com/; Ohio Willow Wood http://www.owwco.com/; and Otto
Bock Health Care http://www.ottobockus.com/. Thank you all for your
generosity and commitment to OPAF’s official representation of O&P and
chief mission: to enable individuals with physical disabilities —
especially those served by members of the U.S. O&P community — to enjoy
the rewards of personal achievement, physical fitness, and social
interaction. Learn more about OPAF at http://www.opfund.org.

Nascott Rehabilitation Services announces its upcoming Amputee Ski
Excursion. On Saturday, January 22nd, 2005, Nascott plans to transport
amputees and family members from the Baltimore/Washington area to
Liberty Mountain in Carroll Valley, PA for a day of skiing. The bus will
depart from the Silver Spring Office at 6 AM and return around 7 PM.
Lunch will be provided and advance registration is required.

This program is for amputees and their families who are either
experienced or inexperienced skiers that would like to enjoy a day of
skiing at a group discount, while we take care of transportation and
lunch.

Liberty Mountain’s Adaptive ski program offers ski instruction for
people with three levels of mobility impairment – a person has the use
of only one leg (Three Track Skiing); a person who needs assistance with
balance (Four Track Skiing); or a person who uses a wheelchair or walks
for short distances or periods of time (Sit-Down Skiing). More info on
the web: www.skiliberty.com/adaptive.htm

Our goal in offering this program is to remain consistent with our
philosophy of creating opportunities for amputees to get back into and
stay in the game of life. Similar programs will be available throughout
the year.

Advance payment is required and a limited number of training sessions
are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We accept all major
credit cards, cash and checks made payable to Nascott Rehabilitation
Services. We will be able to seat a limited number of wheelchairs in the
passenger area, but can store several wheelchairs in the storage area of
the bus. Deadline for registration is Friday, January 7th at 4 PM, so
please don’t wait!!

Tubing is also available, please call for details.

To sign up or get directions, please call Jason Bulger at 301-680-5431.
Plan to meet at our Silver Spring office located at: 2301-C Broadbirch
Drive, Silver Spring, MD 20904.
