Amputee Cycling Association announces a 2400 mile cycle trip to promote The Ertl Amputation Surgical Procedure

“I realized I had to go home and throw away my handicap sticker.”

– Dan Sheret, Lower Limb Amputee, following his 52 day bike trek across America in 2003

WHAT:

A 2,400 mile 30 day bike trek from Nashville Tennessee to Bar Harbor Maine

WHO:

Dan Sheret, Wilmington, NC

Director, Amputee Cycling Association

WHY:

Dan Sheret 42 and a below knee amputee of Wilmington NC. continues his mission of bringing hope and awareness to others that suffer from limb loss.
Fresh from a 1400 mile cycle trip from Glasgow Scotland to Prague Czech Republic, Sheret will cycle the 2400 miles to Maine to promote the Barr Foundation and the Ertl Amputation Surgical Procedure.

Barr Foundation President Tony Barr says,

“Dan Sheret, and many amputees like him, whom have the fortitude and desire to become whole again after the loss of a limb, seek out the best surgery possible.

The surgical procedure know as the “The Ertl Procedure ” provides an additional and crucial component to the prosthetic hardware in order to achieve full and complete rehabilitation. Unfortunately, most prosthetists have to deal with what ever the surgeons leave them.”

“The Ertl Procedure provides that extra edge to better assure pain free mobility and the ability to perform remarkable physical achievements.

We have a number of Ertl amps performing remarkable feats with a Ertl”.
