I’m looking for some information from those who have experience with the Cascade Up and About KAFO system. I have a young athletic male T7-8 incomplete para. He’s very strong and motivated and is currently using conventional molded plastic KAFO’s. He and the PT are inquiring about the Cascade system but I haven’t worked with it yet. I’m still waiting for the information to arrive from Cascade.
-How’s the weight compare to conventional molded plastic KAFO’s? (Cascade recommends laminating the thigh and calf shells) -Is the RGO hip component reliable and durable over time?
-How do the locking knee joints work? (locking and unlocking) -Where is the release mechanism typically located for the knee joints? Or is it optional?
Any other concerns or insights would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
