The Academy has learned that the U.S. Olympic Committee is reviving the U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and will honor for the first time a category of Paralympian.
Five Paralympians have been nominated and one will be selected by a vote by all Olympians, Paralympian, Olympic Family and a fan voting component to determine the eventual inductee. Voting is free and open until noon Eastern, April 14. Fans may vote only once and may choose six Olympians from a list of 19, one team from a list of six, and one Paralympian from a list of five.
The five Paralympian Finalists are:
Diana Golden (Alpine Skiing)
Linda Mastandrea (Track & Field)
John Morgan (Swimming)
Dennis Oehler (Track & Field)
Randy Snow (Basketball, Tennis, and Track & Field)

Many of these names are familiar to you. Dennis Oehler was named an Honorary Member of the Academy and is currently visiting more than 40 high schools in seven states with O&P programs. Dennis, with Todd Schaffhauser and a local practitioner, do a 1-2 hour O&P Awareness program encompassing disability acceptance; how O&P technology changes lives; and, how O&P professionals en-able and empower individuals with disabilities.
