silicone hand enquiry

I am a third year student currently studying Prosthetics and Orthotics at the University of Salford.  I am writing a very important dissertation on “silicone hand cosmesis and the psychology behind it.”  I need information regarding the development of silicone hand cosmesis through the decades.  If possible the first silicone hand produced and history (names, year and location etc).
