According to the license requirements for the Ohio State board of orthotics,
prosthetics and pedorthics dated as current July 2003,” licensure requires
exam except those who hold abc (or bcped) certification in chosen field.” Do you
see how the current decisions for allowing boc to be b(r)ought into abc
certification affects state licensure? Sure Ohio and maybe other states used the
“mark of merit” as a guide line to insure competent practitioners in a licensed
environment but they all were under the misguided conclusion that to be abc
certified meant going through an exam process. Now all these states will have
to modify their requirements to protect those whom the law was designed to
protect. My question is do states offer quid pro quo for license practitioners?
If you are a licensed practitioner in a state and decide to quit abc how does
this affect the acceptance into another state licensure program?
