When I received an email to join the elite group of ABC practitioners, I laughed. I thought 24 hours prior I was not welcomed or eligible to join their ranks and now for $75 I could add the ABC title to my resume. Thank you for the offer but I am not interested. Then I find out that BOC has decided that they need to offer the same deal but went one better by offering BOC certification for FREE.
One of the major complaints from ABC practitioners dealth with the education issue and contrary to popular belief most BOC Certifees do have college degrees. Now one would think that with all the education between the two groups that they could have settled their differences in a more mature manner.
I am saddened that both groups have taken the low road. I believe that all this fighting will only fuel the fire for nationwide Licensure. Then what will you do when practitioners no longer need the ABC or BOC certificate to hang on their wall.
