occipital bone protection

Dear list,

 

I  have a 32yr old female patient whom has been refered to me. She has a 3″ X 4″ hole in her (R) occipital bone. The bone was removed during surgery, and there are no short term plans of covering the hole with a metal plate. Patient is very concerned about her appearance and very protective of this spot. The patient’s doctor wants me to build a protective covering for her (R) occipital bone.

 

Any suggestions from the list would be greatly appreciated .
