I am looking to find values that would be considered dangerous as peak
pressures in limb/socket interfaces for transtibial amputees. There has been
many studies analyzing the pressures and shear forces in TT sockets and in
one instance Convery and Buis reported a peak pressures of >100 kPa may be
considered potentially dangerous, yet provided no reference for this value.
If anyone can point me towards some literature that explains or defines
“dangerous values” for these forces, It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Christopher Harrington
