400# prosthetic patient

Ingrid Frank Prosthetics, Inc.

I am looking for suggestions/advice for fitting a new transtibial amputee who is middle-aged, diabetic, and weighs 400 pounds. Due to complex medical problems he’s probably going to remain at the K1 level, however, his physicians and caregivers are interested in “getting him up and moving” in a reasonable effort to try to improve his overall well-being. His insurance is Medicaid, so I am concerned about cost. What componentry is available that will support his weight and be affordable at the same time? Thanks in advance for your help.
